Effective collaboration and management of your Shopify store often involve granting permissions to other users while knowing your store’s URL for reference. In this comprehensive guide, we’ll not only walk you through the process of sharing permissions but also show you how to find your Shopify store URL, formatted as xxx.myshopify.com.
Part 1: Finding Your Shopify Store URL
Step 1: Log In to Your Shopify Admin Panel
Begin by logging in to your Shopify admin panel using your owner account or a staff account with sufficient privileges.
Step 2: Find Your Store URL
From your Shopify dashboard, locate the very top URL. At the end of the url, you will have either a string of letters and numbers or a store name. This is your Shopify Store “Name”
Step 3: So what is the URL?
The Shopify Store URL is formatted in the following layout: xxx.myshopify.com.
Place the “name” you have just located in place of “xxx” and you will have your Shopify Store URL!
For Example: petal-bloom-boutique-marketing.myshopify.com
This is the web address where your Shopify store is hosted.
Part 2: Sharing Permissions with Other Users
Step 1: Click on “Account”
After locating your store’s URL, navigate back to the “Settings” page by clicking on the “Settings” option in the left-hand sidebar.
Step 2: Access “Users & Permissions”
Within the “Settings” submenu, click on “Users & Permissions.” This will lead you to the account management page where you can control user access.
Step 7: Scroll Down to “Staff Accounts”
Scroll down the “Account” page until you reach the “Staff accounts” section. This is where you can manage and add staff members for collaboration.
Step 8: Add a Staff Account
To add a new user and share permissions, click on the “Add staff account” button. You’ll be prompted to enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
Step 9: Assign Permissions
Once you’ve entered the email address, Shopify will ask you to specify the permissions you want to grant. Choose the appropriate access level based on your collaborator’s role.
Step 10: Send the Invitation
After assigning permissions, click the “Send invite” button. Shopify will send an invitation email to the recipient with instructions on how to access your store.
Step 11: Accept the Invitation
The recipient will receive an email containing a link to accept the invitation. Upon acceptance, they’ll have access to the sections of your store that you specified.
Conclusion:
This comprehensive guide has shown you not only how to find your Shopify store URL but also how to share permissions with other users efficiently. By following these steps, you can manage your store’s access while ensuring that your collaborators have the necessary permissions to help you grow your online business successfully.
NOTE: Developer access does not count against the Staff Limits on your Shopify Plan.
